SFE – National Conference 2023

It was a pleasure to attend the Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) National Conference 2023 with my colleague Lara Barton yesterday.

SFE is a specialist group of lawyers, advising on key areas of law relevant to older and vulnerable clients, including wills; trusts; Lasting Powers of Attorney and mental capacity issues; Court of Protection applications; and later-life planning.

The Conference included insightful talks from industry experts, covering Inheritance Tax; best practice in Court of Protection applications; claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975; and trusts.

SFE's forthcoming rebrand was also noteworthy. From September 2023, SFE will be known as The Association of Lifetime Lawyers, to better reflect the breadth of expertise offered by its members.

A number of lawyers at Hunters are SFE-accredited, meaning that we are best placed to advise clients on all aspects of older / vulnerable client law.
