The Great Hunters Bake Off

Hunters recently hosted a cake sale as a fundraising initiative in support of Home-Start. We had a terrific turn out of entries ranging from gingerbread men, tiramisu cupcakes, and even pork pies!

This was not only an opportunity for our team to show off their baking skills; we also had the pleasure of enlisting the help of Home-Start and one of the families they support to act as judges to decide the star baker.

The theme of this year’s bake off was ‘Family’. Our bakers interpreted this in many different and interesting ways. Our judges had to choose their favourite interpretation of the theme before sampling the top contenders to make the final decision on taste and texture.

There was tough competition and it took some time for our judging panel to come to a final decision. However at 11am, just in time for a mid-morning tea, our winner Rachel Allman with her chocolate and courgette cake, was announced to the firm.

All cakes were then put on sale and all proceeds went to Home-Start Westminster.  We look forward to continue fundraising with them in supporting hundreds of families for the rest of this year. Well done for all who entered their tasty cakes and thank you for those who supported the cakes sale on the day.
