We are delighted that Hunters has seen a great expansion within the firm, including internal promotions in several departments.

We celebrate Ben Gurluk’s promotion to Partner in the Property Department in April 2017. Additionally, we congratulate James Mabey, a solicitor in the Private Client Department, becoming an Associate. Both Richard Taylor and Jacqueline Clements have now also become Consultants.

Hunters’ new additions include Associate Peter Wright, who has significant experience relating to the prime central London estates, agriculture and historic environmental law.

Hunters also welcomed Amy Scollan at the beginning of 2017, who joined the firm’s Family Department as an Associate. Amy has received recognition throughout the legal sector for her case work, and has made a particular name for herself in pioneering novel applications, such as obtaining permission to serve proceedings via Facebook in 2012.

We have also recently recruited two new trainee solicitors; Arash Andalibi-Abadan and Louise Garrett.

We have had a positive start to the year, being awarded Law Firm of the Year – London at Citywealth’s Magic Circle Awards 2017. It is an honour to be acknowledged as a firm that is a leader in the industry.

Our individual lawyers have also been celebrated: Hetty Gleave, Partner in our Art and Family Departments, was awarded the  Bronze award in the Inspirational Woman of the Year category at the Citywealth Powerwoman Awards 2017. Jo Carr-West, recently appointed Partner in the Family Department, was also awarded Bronze for the Family Lawyer of the Year category at Citywealth’s Future Leaders Awards 2016. Both were selected to form part of the highly competitive shortlists by a judging panel and the winners were then chosen by a public vote.

Hunters’ Art and Cultural Property Law department was shortlisted in The Legal 500 UK 2017 Awards for Private Client – Firm (Specialism) of the Year. The awards are unique in the legal industry as they recognise each element of the profession equally, representing the very best law firms, chambers, silks, in-house lawyers, business leaders and general counsel operating within the UK market.

We are also delighted to announce that Associates Amy Scollan, Molly Wills and Vanessa Friend have been shortlisted in Citywealth’s Future Leaders Awards 2017. Amy Scollan for ‘Outstanding Individual of the Year’; Molly Wills for ‘Lawyer of the Year – Associate’; and Vanessa Friend for ‘Family Lawyer of the Year – Associate’ in the annual awards. The awards’ third year will continue to spotlight individuals and companies who encourage leadership and diversity.
