Associate
Catherine Gage joined Hunters in October 2025 and is an Associate in our Charity department.
She brings decades of specialised experience within the Museum and Heritage sector, having worked extensively with leading national institutions, including the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), and Royal Forestry Society (RFS).
With a unique insider’s perspective on the challenges facing charities and cultural organisations, Catherine offers particular expertise in navigating the digital landscape – from e-commerce and joint ventures to virtual visitor experiences and digital preservation
Her approach combines deep sector knowledge with practical, commercially focused advice. She understands what charity leaders need: guidance that is clear, professional, and free from unnecessary legal jargon.
Catherine’s expertise spans legal governance and the structuring of commercial opportunities that support and advance charitable missions. As a former Legal and Marketing Director, she brings a strong focus on digital governance and compliance, ensuring that new initiatives such as joint ventures and online platforms are built on secure, regulatory-sound foundations.
She has a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework, including the Charity Commission, Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), and Health and Safety Executive (HSE), with particular acuity in digital matters. Catherine also has a background in employment law advocacy from her earlier career at a city law firm, adding further depth to her advice.
Catherine’s integration into our leading Charity department enhances our ability to support trustees and CEOs with the clarity and confidence they need to pursue innovative growth – secure in the knowledge that their governance is robust and compliant.
Catherine is a Eucharistic Minister and sacristan. She studied law at UCL and is an active member in several charities. Catherine is a member of Charity Law Association.
