New ‘How to Rent’ guide for landlords

The Government has announced that it will be releasing a new "How to Rent" guide next week.

Landlords and agents alike will be familiar with the requirement to serve this guide before seeking to terminate a residential tenancy under section 21 of the Housing Act 1988.

From 24 March, the new version of the guide should be served at the commencement of all new tenancies or on renewal.

Given the consequences of failing to do so, landlords and their agents must be careful to ensure the correct version is used.

A new 'How to Rent' guide will be released by Government next week, with private landlords reminded they MUST serve this version at the start of any new tenancy or on renewal.
