Another reminder in The Times this morning that - unlike marriage - there is no statutory protection for cohabiting couples if their relationship ends; and yet the myth of the common law marriage persists, with many believing that the clicking by of years clocks up an entitlement to...something. It doesn't. Reform is needed.
