Hunters hosts the Durham University Venture Lab

On 27 March, Hunters was delighted to host a drop‑in session for students and alumni from the Durham University Venture Lab, offering an informal space for founders to work, collaborate, and connect.

The event formed part of the Venture Lab’s growing programme that seeks to support early‑stage entrepreneurs and businesses from Durham University, an initiative now secured for the next several years thanks to generous philanthropic funding from alumni. With long‑term investment in place, the programme is aiming to provide students and young founders with consistent, high‑quality support as they begin to shape their ideas.

The session hosted by Hunters provided a space for participants to come and go at their own pace, collaborate on their projects, and support one another as they seek to navigate scaling their businesses in the months ahead. Attendees had the chance to speak directly with members of the Hunters team (Rory Wilson and Leah Krishnarayan), ask practical questions about legal considerations for early‑stage ventures, and gain insight into the broader ecosystem surrounding start‑ups.

We were thrilled to have supported the Durham University Venture Lab in its first London-based drop-in session for students and alumni, and we look forward to supporting more initiatives in the future.

In attendance at the drop-in session were Leo Thomson and Beth Holloway, founders of Feasibly, an AI-enabled start-up aiming to assist with the green energy transition in the UK, who Hunters advised last year on their pre-seed funding round, raising funds from PXN Ventures’ PraeSeed programme, using capital from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II. Their pre-seed injection took Feasibly’s total funding to more than £500,000, including two foundational R&D grants from Innovate UK. They were advised by Rory Wilson (Partner) and Sam Young (Associate).
