The process is designed to be collaborative, with safeguards such as separate initial meetings, a suitability checklist, and a joint retainer confirming informed consent. Joint meetings, financial disclosure, and expert input form the backbone of the approach, with a 14-day cooling-off period allowing either party to seek independent advice before finalising any agreement.
Henry advocates for wider adoption of RT, suggesting it has the potential to transform divorce into a more respectful, resolution-focused experience, particularly for couples who share a common interest in reaching an amicable settlement.
