From 6th April 2016, all British unlisted companies and LLPs (that are not exempt) must maintain a register of people with significant control over them, known as the “PSC Register”. From 30th June 2016, when companies file their confirmation statement details of the PSC Register will need to be filed with them. Failure to comply is a criminal offence. The draft statutory guidance for LLPs will be published on 24 June 2016.
This briefing explains the information that must be recorded in those registers and the law in this area.
