Legal Secretary/PA in the Family Team
In the Family department, our Senior Associates / Associates support Partners with their client matters. The Legal Secretary/PA will work primarily for two Partners and the Associates who support them.
We are looking for a resilient, proactive and highly organised individual who has experience in working in a department dealing with complex and high value financial remedy claims, children matters (including international) and domestic abuse. The incumbent will be able to foster good working relationships, working closely with the other members of the Family Department’s support team and report to the HR Director.
Skills & Competencies:
- Professionalism: Behaviour and appearance; a client-focused approach, with the sensitivity and discretion required when dealing with confidential and emotionally complex Family Law matters.
- Communication: Articulate, able to convey messages in an appropriate manner, know how to approach Clients, Court officials etc
- Organisational skills: Able to manage own workload, meet deadlines, manage case files and other documents in an orderly manner. Strong diary-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet urgent deadlines. A calm, flexible and solutions-focused approach in a busy environment. Work towards a paperless environment.
- Initiative: The ability to use initiative, anticipate fee earners’ requirements and progress tasks with appropriate supervision.
- Team Player: A collaborative attitude and willingness to support colleagues across the department.
- Discretion: Sound judgement, able to maintain confidentiality and a high level of discretion at all times
