Associate in the Family Team

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and ambitious Associate to join our award-winning Family and Relationships Department. Working closely with partners and senior associates, you will advise clients on a broad range of complex family law matters, including financial remedy proceedings, private children disputes and international children cases.

The role offers significant client exposure and responsibility, while providing the support and development opportunities that come from working within a collaborative and highly regarded team. You will play an important role in progressing matters efficiently, delivering exceptional client service and contributing to the continued success and growth of the department.

Key responsibilities:

You will be a confident and commercially minded family lawyer with experience of both financial and children work. You will be comfortable managing your own files, supporting senior colleagues on complex matters and building strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.

Excellent communication, drafting and organisational skills are essential, together with a proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving. You will also be keen to contribute to the team’s business development and profile-raising activities.

  • Advising clients on a wide range of family law matters, including financial remedy and children proceedings
  • Managing cases under the supervision of partners and senior associates, ensuring matters progress efficiently and effectively
  • Preparing court documentation, witness statements, financial disclosure and other key case documents
  • Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts and other professional advisers
  • Assisting with complex cross-border children matters and working with lawyers in other jurisdictions where required
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering a high standard of client care throughout the lifecycle of a matter
  • Managing files, time recording and billing in accordance with firm procedures
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the department and wider firm
  • Contributing to marketing and business development initiatives, including articles, podcasts, networking events and industry conferences
  • Supporting the continued growth and success of the Family team through excellent technical and client service delivery
